Stephen Dooley

Stephen brings a wealth of knowledge to his teaching here at the college, having grown up on his family’s farm, designing and establishing a large organic vegetable garden for a resort/restaurant and working on macadamia, kiwifruit and stone fruit orchards and vineyards.
He’s been a teacher at Tafe Qld for over 8 years, teaching ornamental and production horticulture in different settings, including schools and correctional centres. These programs covered a range of topics, including soil management, weather, propagation and nursery work, irrigation, environmental sustainability, and weed management.
He set up and managed a production nursery in a Qld Correctional Centre, supplying native tubestock for community and reafforestation projects, and vegetable seedlings for the Centre.
Stephen loves working on group projects, nurturing the soil, growing vegetables and flowers, seeing the magic of nature, and supporting students through their learning experience
