INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS

The ACE Program aims to support disadvantaged students across NSW and students from Regional and Remote Communities who experience barriers to training and employment.

Barriers might include (but are not limited to) one of the following:

  • limited employability skills
  • ongoing personal issues impacting on educational achievement
  • financial limitations in accessing childcare, transport and/or respite care
  • low literacy, language, numeracy or computer skills

ACE Programs are linked to the NSW Skills List, including:

  • short courses involving nationally recognised units of competency and other tailored training
  • units/modules supporting language, literacy, numeracy and employability skills
  • targeted training and limited full qualifications up to and including Certificate III qualifications for those who are experiencing barriers to an entitlement

The Program will deliver short course training to eligible participants to give them the necessary skills and knowledge to move into further study and/or gain employment. It is part of the NSW Government’s Smart & Skilled training reform.
