Nadia de Souza Pietramale

Nadia comes from a farming background in Brazil and has 26 years of experience in bushland management on public and private properties between Sydney and Byron Bay. Her first degree was a Bachelor in Communication (Metodista UN, São Paulo, 1992). However, moved to the bush regeneration industry in 1996 with the National Trust of Australia; 1997 with a Certificate II in Bushland Management, Lismore; 2000 Bushland Management, Ryde TAFE, Sydney; 2001 Master of Environmental Management (focus on sustainability) at University of NSW, Sydney; 2016 Certificate in Organic Biodynamic Agriculture, Taroona Steiner Institute, New Zealand; 2017 Syntropic Agriculture Course, Byron Bay.
Nadia also worked for 12 years, until 2021, at Shearwater Primary School, Mullumbimby, where she implemented an integrated garden program for the children. She also worked as part of the grounds team implementing creek line riparian zone and wetland restoration, plus general maintenance of the school property. For some years she has implemented ecological restoration projects on several private properties in the Byron Shire using the chemical free land management approach.
