Jeferson Franke

One big passion that I have discovered living abroad was teaching Portuguese. It has become one of the ways I can still be connected with my country Brazil. Also I can share a little bit of our diverse and cheerful culture. The other way is presenting the Lusofonia show on Bay FM.

The background I bring comes from twelve years working as a System Developer using many different computer languages and one year and a half of workshops and immersion on theatre and clown. In 2018 when I came to Australia I spent 8 months in an intensive English course which put me in contact with amazing teachers and inspired me to do the same about my mother language. In that context I have started to give private lessons for friends until I have got long term students and small groups of people interested in speaking Portuguese mainly to communicate with partners, friends or for travelling.

In the classroom I mix the strategy of the IT field with the playfulness of theatre and clown. I also work as Support Carer for people with disabilities where I am always developing my skills of patience, listening, understating, flexibility, empathy and compassion.
