Greg Sullivan
Greg Sullivan has been a professional comedian since his first paid gig which coincided with nineteenth Birthday on the last day of 1995. From twenty-one to twenty-seven he wrote jokes and did character voices on Triple M radio as well as contributing material to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival Show of Saturday Night Live star Rich Hall. He also performed stand up on every Australian free to air network and the Comedy Channel, as well as being invited to perform in an Australian comedy showcase at the Hollywood Improv.
From the ages of Twenty-seven to thirty-five he hosted a top rating radio show on the Triple M network, appeared several times on The Project and sold out festival shows at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
For the last nine years he has lived in Mullumbimby in between touring around Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia and China. The plague has grounded him in the most beautiful shire in the world and Mandy Nolan has very kindly let him take the reins of her famous comedy course.
Greg taught a course at the Woodford Planting Festival two years ago and his star pupil, palliative care nurse Carolyn Mandersloot is currently on her first tour as a professional comedian.
Carolyn says "Greg Sullivan I’m forever grateful for the day I met you. You gave me the confidence and belief that I could get up and have a voice on stage.
You are an excellent teacher and a fabulous mentor. Mandy has made a wise choice"
Steph Tisdell, winner of Deadly Funny and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival John Pinder Award says "Greg Sullivan is one of the first professional comedians who ever provided me mentorship. He is kind, generous with his time and his intellect (which is astounding, honestly), and speaks from a place of earnest support and love. He is open and vulnerable and has been one of my biggest supporters from the beginning until now. If you have a chance, take the time to learn from him and listen to his edgy material to understand how he is able to use humour to really challenge people. Ah man, I just love Greg."
