Carol began her career in publishing in 1986, when she joined Jacaranda Wiley (now Wiley & Sons) as a project editor in their head office in Brisbane.
She already had many years experience in newspaper journalism, and that, coupled with a recent primary teaching qualification, fitted her admirably for her new role coordinating the publication of many hundreds of titles for Wiley’s, which ranged from primary school reading materials to tertiary tomes.
Carol then saw an opportunity to create her own business – Bookmark Publishing – offering clients, including local and state government departments, other major publishers and self-publishers, a complete hassle-free publishing service. She went back to newspapers in this time, going on to work for Queensland’s Courier-Mail for 20 years.
Now relocated to the beautiful Northern Rivers area, Carol is still doing newspaper work for APN, and is offering her editorial and publishing skills to aspiring authors and self-publishers.
