Ni hao! My name is Ling. I’m originally from Shanghai, China where I had experiences in working at international firms and teaching expats in China Mandarin. I have worked as an online teacher at New Concept Mandarin for 7 years and have been collaborating with Byron Community College since 2016.

During weekdays I also work as a legal assistant at a law firm in Byron Bay. I believe that the size of a person’s world is to some extent limited by his/her language skills. My passion and goal is to help English speakers like you to learn the Chinese language and culture in a practical way whether you’re are looking for new academic pursuits, career developments or simply new perspectives on life.

My style of tutoring is Flipped Learning. I always fully encourage the students to take initiative by coming to the class with their own questions in mind and challenging themselves in a non pressured way. Each term at Byron Community College I enjoy meeting both novice and experienced students from all walks of life.
