Resume
Bruno Pouget
I am a qualified French Chef with over 30 years of experience.
I always knew I wanted to be a chef since I was 10 years old and have a family background in this trade. My profession has taken me internationally, exploring all levels of establishments, which has allowed me to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge within the industry.
In 1999, I solely created a restaurant in my home region of Provence that offered a unique dining experience and during this period met my wife and we became business partners. Since, we have also operated a Guesthouse/Restaurant together and for 7 years our successful Restaurant/Café business La Table in Mullumbimby NSW.
This year I commenced teaching Commercial Cookery at Wollongbar TAFE whilst still working as a Freelance Chef. I’m currently organizing a food tour for September 2017, to take intimate groups to my home region in Provence, France.
My cooking combines French tradition and Modern Mediterranean flavours in a uniquely Australian context, culture and climate.
Passion is the main driver in cooking, as it’s a lot about giving and sharing.
With the desire to share my passion, knowledge and experience, I look forward to sharing this with students at Byron Community College.
