Mary-Lou has been working in the field of horticulture for 38 years. Within this time Mary-Lou has gained substantial knowledge of plants and gardens, including their design & maintenance of open spaces such as parks, sportsfields, reserves, cemetery grounds and airport grounds.

She holds a Diploma of Horticulture and has been employed as a Horticulture Tutor at Byron Community College and at TAFE Qld Gold Coast and TAFE Brisbane for a number of years.

Mary-Lou began her career in retail and wholesale nurseries and feels this is the basis of her wealth of knowledge on plant species and physiology, growing characteristics, soil science, propagation, weed treatments and chemicals.
