After two years she was promoted to the position of Project Officer for CfBT the British company that recruits, trains and manages expatriate teachers in Brunei. During this time Patrea was appointed as literacy advisor to the Ministry of Education, assisting the committee to formulate the ‘National Literacy Policy’ for Brunei. When Patrea and her family returned to Australia in 2008 she began teaching English to international students. Her desire to further her knowledge and experience of adult teaching was fulfilled when she began work on the Skills for Education and Employment Program in 2010.
Travelling from New Zealand to Australia to South East Asia and back, Patrea has enjoyed the many lessons she has taught and learnt along the way.
