Debra Allard
Resume
Debra was part owner of Tweed Valley Whey Farmhouse Cheeses where she made and sold fresh cheeses to a local clientele. She gradually evolved the business over 4 years to make gold medal winning cheese and attracted the attention of media Australia wide. By face to face selling (mostly at farmers markets) our customers could identify with the product. We told the story of the business and the cheeses they were buying.
Debra now runs cheese making classes to demystify the process for home cheese makers. Not only is it a great social day out but it gives the student an insight into the development of milk into cheese. She is also constantly updating her skills by attending cheese workshops and assisting head cheese makers in cheese factories. A trip to the UK in November 2013 visiting 4 cheese factories all over Britain was a terrific experience and Debra returned with many new recipes to try out at home.
Debra is an active member of the community by being involved in various committees including the Burringbar Hall, Murwillumbah Farmers Market and President of Murwillumbah High School.
