Resume
A dedicated artist, mother, wife and grandmother, born and raised in Victoria then moved to the Northern Rivers in 1980. At an early age I developed a love for art and pottery and after completing school, majoring in Art, Graphics, Law and Secretarial Studies I travelled through Europe. In 1981, I became a distributor in NSW for a range of ceramic products, glazes and clays. I achieved a Diploma in ceramics and continued learning by attending worshops, judging at various shows and managing a succesful ceramic and porcelain studio teaching traditional and modern techniques to both adults and children. In the past 30 years I have continued with my art work while working in other areas of customer service. I currently hold a Diploma in Leisure and Health Aged Care and am completing a Bachelor of Dementia Care.
In 2013 I was introduced to a new product on the market known as Powertex. In a short time I became extremely interested in the product and completed my training as a teacher for Powertex. This product has inspired me to again get back to my true love of creating art, which has opened up new avenues in mixed media, producing fascinsting and truly amazing finished pieces that anyone can achieve. I also discovered you dont have to be an artist to create beautiful pieces. I absolutely love how versityle all the different products are, how easy they are to use and the results of how beautiful and amazing my students work is when they have finished creating their masterpieces.
Powertex is unlike any product I have ever used in my artwork, I have been able to produce a unique style using sculpture, painting, mixed media, texture, print and so much more. Sharing my experience through teaching provides students confidence and pride in their work which has proven successful by student feedback and ongoing classses, I feel this is rewarding and what teaching is all about.
