Are you interested in exploring painting in a style between realism and abstraction?

This 8-week immersion into collage, colour and painting will draw inspiration from a range of expressionist painters who were more concerned with their emotional responses than an objective reality. Drawing on memory, imagination, dreams and collage this class will step you through a process to help you draw and paint expressively with your own painting signature. This class continues to develop the practices of Dreaming in Colour 1 and is best suited to those who have some art experience or have completed one of our visual arts skill sets before.

What you will learn:

  • Colour theory, colour mixing
  • Painting expressively to develop your own painting signature

  • A great opportunity to sink deep in to colour. How to mix it, how to match it, or just how to play with it.
  • Everything about this course was enlightening. I left the course more keen than ever to continue exploring Colour - from the alchemy of how colours are mixed, to ways of seeing, applying, experiencing and thinking about colour. • I found it helpful and inspiring to be in a supportive environment with a creative and encouraging teacher and other students interested in developing their artistic ability.
