Equatorial Sundial Project

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

At last, a science project for grownups that’s challenging and fun! Inspired by ancient science, this precision engineering Equatorial Sundial project is made from luminous solid brass and timber. Fabricated primarily with hand tools, you’ll learn how to measure and mark accurately, cut safely and with precision, tap threads, drill, polish, bend metal, and much more!

All parts of the project are hand-made and assembled by you, including the cross bars, gnomon, pivot flange and brass pointers. By the end of the course your project will be ready to complement your garden or patio, bearing testament to handy new skills inspired from ancient knowledge, art and science.
