The Disability Support Skill Set is a short course that provides the skills and knowledge required to work as a support worker within the Community working with people with a disability, in home or in supported accommodation. Successful completion of the units can be used to lead you into the full qualification CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).

A career in Disability can be extremely rewarding. People suited to this profession often demonstrate empathy towards others and a real understanding of all people living in the community. The Disability Industry is a growing sector, providing graduates with flexibility and career options nationwide.
This is an opportunity for people currently working in the industry to upskill and those who wish to kick-start their career in the disability industry.

This course is being offered to eligible students under the Prevocational and Part Qualifications Program. Applications for these subsidised places are limited so a funded place cannot be guaranteed.

Course Length, Dates & Hours

  • One day of classroom (Mondays) 9.00 am – 4.00pm per week
  • One day (equivalent) of home study per week
  • Students will be required to complete 40 hours of work placement
  • Delivery location: Mullumbimby Campus

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Important Information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you. Please make sure that you give us a valid email address and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via sms or email.
