Woodwork for Creative Applications

This course is a logical progression from the Woodwork Intro class. If you already have a little woodworking experience or are a novice with specific interests in the creative aspects of woodworking then this class will be perfect for you! The project is a garden bench/ plant stand built entirely out of recycled timbers. The assembly is simple so you can make the design unique and individual to your style.
We cover the essentials of knowing safe work practices and choosing the right PPE for the job before exploring different power tools and techniques such as:
- Accurate measuring & marking with French curves and a combination square
- The versatile reciprocating/ sabre saw
- Jigsaw
- Drills and impact drivers
- Power sanders
You will gain valuable power tool knowledge, experience and techniques so you can confidently embark on your own projects, especially with recycled materials such a pallets and crates etc, in a fun, creative and social environment.
No previous woodworking experience necessary.
What to bring
- Pen or pencil and paper to take notes
- Leather work boots, preferably steel capped
- Cotton work clothes
- Cotton or leather work gloves for woodwork
- Long hair tied back and fingernails trimmed
- All other PPE and tools will be supplied for the class (please bring your own if you prefer)
Important information
Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.
