Woodwork Introduction

This is an excellent course for beginners wanting to get the know-how on basic carpentry. The class project is a timber tools caddy, an essential item for any budding carpenter to store their hand tools. You build your very own with recycled timber during the class.
Techniques and skills include:
- Knowing Safe work practices and choosing the right PPE for the job
- Accurate measuring & marking with a tape measure and combination square
- Timber cutting techniques with a circular saw and mitre saw
- Drilling, driving & power sanding
The aim is to gain valuable power tool knowledge, experience and technique in a safe and inspiring environment so you can confidently embark on your own DIY projects.
No previous woodworking experience necessary.
What to bring:
- Water and your own lunch
- Wear comfortable cotton clothes and leather work boots, preferably steel capped
- Pen or pencil and paper to take notes
- Cotton or leather work gloves for woodworking
- Long hair tied back and fingernails trimmed
- All other PPE and tools will be supplied for the class (please bring your own if you prefer).
Important information
Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.
