This term launches the new format Welding Introduction class! We’re trialing a two-day version that’ll cover more material at a better pace for learning. There’ll be the usual exploration into the versatile MIG welder with the added bonus of having ample time to experiment with gasless MIG and the original (and some say best) Arc/Stick welder.

If you’ve always wanted to learn electric welding but have never had the opportunity, or you may simply want to hone your welding skills, then here’s your chance. Let metal artisan / fabricator, Nyree, take you on a journey to greater independence and practical, creative empowerment through the amazing world of metalwork!

You’ll be instructed on types of welders and their uses before specifically focusing on the MIG welder. We’ll compare gas vs. gasless set-ups, learn about different metals, types of welds and problem troubleshooting.

Step by step we’ll explore how to prepare a space, and yourself, for safe and effective welding. There will be plenty of hands-on tool’s action to practice your welding skills as well as steel grinding, sanding and pop riveting. All this while creating very own decorative steel jewellery/ pencil case to take home.

If you’re interested in sampling this trade or exploring its creative and practical possibilities, this course is for you. No previous metalworking experience required
