Home-made soap is the most ethical and gentle soap you can get, because you know what is going into it! This hands-on course will give you the skills and knowledge to safely make your own natural, sustainable soaps at home. You will learn the alchemy and art of soapmaking from an experienced local ‘soaper’ who will take you through safety, chemistry, practical demonstration and step-by-step how to make your own cold-process soap with your choice of extras. The finished product – a large block of gorgeous soap to use or gift to friends. Additional materials $20

What to bring

  • $20 to pay tutor for materials
  • Large pot
  • Clean 1lt milk carton
  • Old towel
  • Goggles and rubber gloves
  • Your favourite essential oil(s) (at least 20ml) and/or powdered herb/spices (2-3 tblsp) and/or any other ‘extras’ you want to try putting into your soap
  • Wear long-sleeved top and shoes
  • Own refreshments/lunch

Important information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.
