Sewing For Beginners

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

For the complete beginner to gain confidence and learn all the sewing basics e.g. patterns, cutting, machines and overlockers. Make a simple garment in a fun, stimulating and creative environment. You will need to phone the tutor on enrolment to discuss pattern and material choice.

What to bring

  • Sewing machine
  • Pens, pencils
  • A 4 display folder(20 page)
  • Fabric scissors and paper scissors
  • Dressmakers pins
  • Tailors chalk
  • Tape measure
  • Thread snips
  • Simple/easy pattern(e.g., A line skirt,dress,pants NB NOT jeans
  • Cotton fabric. NO shiny or stretch fabrics
  • Thread – cotton, a colour that goes with what your sewing eg Guterman or Birch cotton
  • Please bring own refreshments

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.

Students are required to be 15 years old and above at the time of enrolment.
