The Art of Research is both fun and inspiring. The basis for most great stories lies in the unique details; correct facts that are adequately researched and not just accepted from other people’s writings or assumed knowledge. It will provide gems that will make your book stand out and enrich the plot, storyline and characters. In this course you will learn how to carry out professional research as a creative writer. It will teach you all the do’s and don’ts, the tricks and rules, how to ask the right questions and how to organise all your research.

You will learn:

  • How to research like a professional
  • How to follow leads and threads
  • How to ask the right questions
  • How to document and file research for your book
  • What constitutes knowledge and how to use it
  • How to look for the small gems that will make your story even better

What to bring

  • Computer or pen and paper to take notes
  • Pen and paper
  • Colouring pens/crayons – optional
  • Own refreshments/lunch
