How is your relationship with your body? If you find yourself thinking often that you’d like to be stronger, more flexible or simply more confident in your body but you don’t know how or where to start – this is the course for you. This comprehensive beginners Pilates class will guide you through the fundamentals of moving well. Learn to move in a way that supports optimal function of both your body and mind, in a supportive, small group environment.

A good mover is way more than one who is simply pain free. Moving well and moving often in varied ways is vital to promote optimal function of both your body and your mind. A good mover has the confidence to explore their environment and their own potential to the fullest. A good mover is robust enough to bounce back when challenged. Learn the fundamentals of moving well and unlock a world of new possibilities.

Through a balanced mix of Pilates mat work, functional and neuromuscular training, this course will address breathing techniques, pelvic floor health, core and pelvic stability, healthy spine mechanics, balance, proprioception and more.

What to bring

  • wear comfortable, loose clothing
  • a yoga mat (or a carpeted floor if you don’t have a mat) in an area where you can lay flat on the floor, kneel and stand
  • a folded towel
  • access to a tablet, smartphone or computer with a microphone and speakers and a reliable internet connection. Please set up your device so that the tutor can see the whole of your mat
  • when you enrol in this class you consent to taking responsibility for your own body and needs

This is an online class

  • learn from the comfort of your own home, this class will be delivered live online via the Zoom platform
  • you need an email address, a reliable internet connection, a microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer
  • please ensure your email address is correct when enrolling, as a Zoom link to the class will be sent via email
  • IMPORTANT: if you don’t receive an email with the Zoom link when you enrol, check your spam, or call the college on 02 66843 374 between Mon to Friday 9.30am to 4pm
