Shelve that trip to Ikea and join this interactive and supportive pallet furniture-making workshop series.

You will be guided through the safe use of a wide range of tools and will work collaboratively to build you own pallet furniture that is easily transportable, well-crafted and sustainable. This course will exclusively use non-toxic pallets and paints. You will learn a great range of diverse DIY skills you can apply to any home carpentry project, including natural finishes. At the end of the course, you will take home your own creation and will be able to choose from a range of possible projects including book shelves, shoe shelves, a wine rack, a spice rack, a coffee table or a vertical pallet garden. Run in collaboration with Shedding at the Mullumbimby Commons.

This training is subsidised by the NSW government.

Entry Requirements

  • Learners must be able to attend the first day of the course for a mandatory safety and site induction.
  • Learners must not have successfully completed more than one unit of competency attached to this course.

Course Duration & Hours

  • Classes are delivered face to face
  • Two days of classroom onsite learning 9:00am – 2:00pm
  • 4 weeks in the classroom
  • Delivery location: Shedding Community Workshop, Mullumbimby Commons

Course Fees

Fees are fully subsidised for eligible students, a resource fee applies to all enrolments.

  • Subsidised Fee: $0 (plus resource fee of $125)
  • Full Fee: $400 (plus resource fee of $125)

USI

From the 1st of January 2015, any student enrolling in an Accredited Training course will be required to obtain a USI. The USI helps to keep your training records and results together in an online account which is controlled by you. You can logon to the USI website and follow the simple instructions online to create your USI. This then needs to be provided to the College at the time of enrolment.

Important Information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.
