Get expert advice on hiking from choosing the lightest affordable equipment to what dehydrated food to take, the lighter your pack, the more you will enjoy your hiking adventure in Australia or overseas.

This course will include a half day 'off track' hike and the option to go on an overnight hiking and camping experience.

Steve has extensive experience planning and leading hundreds of hikes all over Australia and in the remote Indian Himalaya. He loves sharing his knowledge to encourage more people to experience the simple pleasures of hiking in the wilderness. 

The first session will be held in the classroom and include lunch made from dehydrated foods, followed by a half day 'off track' hike on the Saturday and then the option to go on an overnight camping and hiking experience.

What to bring:

  • You can join the Byron Hikers club for $35 per year which will cover insurance and enable you to hire overnight equipment through the club if you wish.

Important information

Once your enrolment is completed you will receive a confirmation email. This email will be your receipt and inform you of the dates, time and venue of your course, it will also let you know of anything you need to take to class with you.

Students are required to be 15 years old and above at the time of enrolment.
