Join tutor Sharon in her urban permaculture garden as she shares her passion and years of experience learning both from traditional experts and experimenting with perennial roots, legumes, shoots, fruits and edible greens.

Perennial vegetables are hardy, easy to grow and produce food for years once established. No matter the size or scope of your garden, growing perennials means less work for more food, and greater resilience in your garden.  However, gardeners are often left wondering how to use these wonderful and unusual vegetables once out of the ground.

This course will guide you through the whole process from planting, growing, harvesting, to cooking and preserving to ensure you are getting the most out of your bountiful perennial crops.

What you will learn

  • Growing: plant and grow perennial vegetables
  • Harvest: how to harvest the crop efficiently and in good condition
  • Process: grading, winnowing, threshing
