Art Journaling - Ignite Your Creativity

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

Art Journaling is a wonderful tool for anyone newly entering or re-entering, their creativity. It combines the excitement of mixed media with the benefits of journaling. Collaging, painting, doodling, and experimenting in an art journal is different from working on a canvas, it can stay as safe and private as you like. Art Journaling is not just for artists. You do not need to know how to draw. For beginners, it is a non-threatening, fun entryway into your creativity. For more practiced creatives, it is a place to play and explore.

What to bring

  • Unlined journal or sketchbook for your art journal. I recommend the paper weight being at least 140gm & usually best to start with an A5 size. My favourite is the Hahnemühle sketch book.
  • UHU Glue stick (the yellow ones)
  • Scissors
  • Paper towels
  • Acrylic matte medium
  • Acrylic paint (at least 4 colours that you like)
  • Black or neutral coloured waterproof pen for writing,
  • A few flat bristle brushes 1-2cm wide
  • Old magazines or other collage images
  • White acrylic gesso
  • Scalpel and cutting matt
  • Own refreshments
  • Palette with large mixing areas or a plate
  • Palette knife – a plastic one is fine
  • Apron – optional but recommended
